Stunning! Since 1973, Curtis has been producing wine in McLaren Vale. The family's involvement in winemaking dates back to Italy, where in 1499 the Cardinal de Medici assigned Paolo Curtis the responsibility of caring for the papal holdings near Cervaro, including the planting of vines and olive trees.
Today, the family is still operating a farm nearby. In the 1970s, a portion of the family relocated to Australia and started producing wine in McLaren Vale. With Shiraz plantings that are 60 years old and Grenache vines that are 100 years old included in the mix and serving as the foundation of the wines we stock from them, they rely on some substantial old vine resources.
